Luckily voting in this topic isn't compulsory. Anyway, Sonata Artica is probably one of the more well known power metal bands. They are probably more popular in Europe than the US, though.
Bands have to cross a certain nomination threshold to prevent obscure bands from taking the spotlight from more popular bands, so don't think I will run a topic for a band that nobody on the board knows.
