While I don't see the need for the excessive bashing, I agree with Yuri that the game did not lose because of anti voting.

First off, you'd have to factor out the people who wanted to vote for Octopath in the first place. Then remove all the random votes from people who don't care or don't know about either game, which in this case we'd have to assume Octopath got more votes from. After you have what's left, how many of those actually cared enough to anti vote Undertale because of what happened with it before?

Let's use Octopath's next match as a base. Octopath Traveler got almost the same number of votes in it's match against Shovel Knight as it did against Undertale, and the same people would have no reason to anti vote Shovel Knight. In fact, Octopath actually got 80 more votes in it's match with Shovel Knight.

So I'm just not seeing this whole anti vote thing making the difference. I'm sure that there are those people who voted for Octopath and also don't like Undertale, but based on it's 2nd match it just didn't seem like there's that many who had that as their primary reason for voting for Octopath.
