Personally I think the problem with Galaxy games is they look pretty graphics but overall have pretty boring level designs
I didn't play them until after Odyssey, but it's excruciating to try and play a 3D platformer without free cam. Pressing a button when the camera sucks and praying the game gives you an acceptable angle where you have depth perception rather than just letting players freely adjust the camera themselves isn't great. It's also not fun to walk around a planet and the camera just lets Mario go upside down or sideways instead of being stabilized. Imagine playing F-Zero GX and every time you go off center on a cylinder on a cylinder track, the camera doesn't keep following your vehicle from behind. Nightmarish.

I realize it's a flaw of the Wiimote not having another stick, but the camera isn't fun to deal with in the Galaxy games. Or any 3D Mario pre-3D Land, really. This is one of the reasons that I hope the Mario remasters are real, even if Nintendo would no doubt butcher every single fun glitch in the games.
