The situation has been overwhelmingly painted as a black and white problem (though up here in Canada, indigenous folks are also getting a lot of focus because they're treated even worse by our police than black Americans are by American police), such that nobody's really paying active attention to the experiences of other races. It's pretty reasonable to invite them to share those experiences in an effort to get a better understanding of the broader situation.
