Because the brakes were completely gone. And parts of the suspension were just hanging off. And the exhaust had a massive hole in it. And the gas tank was literally being held on with baling wire. And the tank leaked like a sieve. And the spare tire holder snapped and dropped the tire somewhere. Not that you could remove the wheels if one ever went flat because the lugs were rusted solid.
