They probably spread the first 7-8 episodes evenly throughout the school year and then use the last 4-5 episodes to set up the finally which will take place at the end of the year so the parts of the school year that are like 70-90% are just not shown. They'd probably show april if they wanted spring or earlier if they wanted if winter.
