it's a sequel that doesn't really look a whole lot different. plus it never got the exposure that the first one did. makes sense to me that it wouldn't sell as well.
Yeah, being in Summer of Arcade def hurts it, but I feel like Ms Splosion Man does for Splosion Man the same stuff that Portal 2 did for Portal. Same unique concept, but it does a lot more with it. It is true though, while this formula works well in the retail world, people don't seem to get terribly excited for sequels in the XBLA space. Encourages new IPs at least
