Credit to @Johnbobb for this year's title.

(remaking the topic for a better title. All nominations made in the previous topic will still stand)

Five years. Five years of ranking everything from masterclass horror movies, to games emphasizing different elements of how to execute interactive horror, to characters both heroic & vile, to concepts ranging from the deadly serious to the absurdly comical. It's a series that has managed to encapsulate everything I have ever loved about the genre since I was a small kid watching IT, averting my eyes anytime the terrifying visage of Pennywise the Dancing Clown would even flash briefly on screen. How it can take all range of emotions and leave you as its plaything, a puppet on strings, as it takes the unthinkable and makes it real, casting a spell that simulataneously magnetizes and holds the viewer in its grasp while making them question every second they still continue watching, reading, playing, etc.!

And as we inch closer to the end of one of our most terrifying and anxiety-inducing years in recent memory, some might see horror as unwelcome & unneeded in these times; but for me, it remains more comforting than ever, reminding me that we always need to face up to our fears, own our worries & doubts, and face the world head-up and feet first. Fictional though many horror stories are, there is after all, always a shred of truth in every one. And as this series continues on, I hope to highlight even more of the best, the worst, and the most unique this genre has to offer!

Rules:
1. Nominate up to 5 horror related things. Movies, games, characters, books, music, abstract concepts, horror tropes, artists, creators, etc., it's all fair game. You do not have to worry if something qualifies as horror. I will make the final judgment and I'm super lenient, so just nominate what you want and we'll go from there!

2. Do not nominate anything from previous years. Every previous nomination can be found here, now in a much easier to read & search alphabetical format!

3. I rank based on three criteria: importance to the horror genre/media format, it's fear factor, and my own personal preferences. Ties get weighted towards my preference.

4. I will be looking for at least 100 nominations!

5. Anything I'm not already familiar with will be researched and experienced to the best of my ability.

6. Get spooked everyone and enjoy the rankings!
