Of course there is always situations where the isn't the best options, but it often is. If you're going to play that one card that lets you gain life and draw a card at Instant speed, it's okay to do it on my turn. It's even better since you can leave options open or keep your opponent scared Hell, I don't even think people understand that you can Block a huge creature with your 1/1, bounce the 1/1 back to your hand, and the creature is still blocked. --- ...
