DAY 22.2: The Dinner Party

This movie sucked until it became stupidly corny and then over the top bad but funny.

The Dinner Party is about a couple that goes to a dinner party and then after an hour something happens and it becomes deadly.

This movie goes for almost an hour with just talking and nothing else and fuck I wanted it to end. It's a 2 hour movie too, which makes it worse. And the talking is just a bunch of bad actors trying to do pseudo-deep bullshit.

When it gets going, it's actually a little bit compelling and I'm confused why they couldn't trim out at least a half an hour from this movie in the first half. There's a 5 minute scene of one of them fucking naked just flirting with someone and it's like "You could get this across without having to dedicate 5 minutes and a gratuitous nude scene to it. Come on."

But it devolves so much into campy stupidity that you can't help but laugh, but even when it's like that the scenes are still played out too long. If you just cut the scenes down instead of having everyone talk in circles for entirely too long, you could have gotten this down to a reasonable runtime. Then the action scenes come which are just absolutely hilarious and the best part of this film. This movie was a drag, but at least it entertained at parts.

Don't recommend. It's trash, but at least it could be entertaining trash sometimes.
