It's definitely more absurdist than AA which I think is a big part of the charm. Going into it blind and not knowing who is going to kill or be killed is a highlight of my personal gaming experiences. I and many others think the first game is good but weaker than the sequels unfortunately, but I wouldn't say it's bad.
