Leniency is to be expected in areas where it doesn't have a history of getting out of hand, and in areas where it does, I'd expect them to be more strictly followed. I'm 90% sure that you and others have completely misinterpreted and misapplied the actual rules. The rules -- which are stated outside the polling place -- block campaign volunteers from bringing in signs and campaigning within the space. I've lived in quite a few places over the years and voted in all of them and have seen people in there with political shirts.
