DR1 is definitely whatever, but it does a good job establishing the franchise and setting the ground for DR2 and DRV3 which are much better games. I really wish we had more games like Hotel Dusk but on a case-by-case basis rather than 1-case-per-game aspect. There's a serious niche missing for mystery games that aren't anime. --- I feel completely refreshed.
