4. richie and eddie (bottom)

i can think of few sitcoms with as complex characterization or as dynamic a relationship. at first blush it's all crude slapstick comedy, which is fine and good, but through that it expresses a bleak, desperate co-dependency. a lot of sitcoms, even good ones, have pretty static character relationships, but bottom deftly changes who has the upper hand constantly per episode. the comparison is a bit overegged, but you do see the waiting for godot inspiration come through.
