Topic | Space Jam: A New Legacy wasn't a bad film. Change my mind. |
fettster777 07/26/21 2:03:05 PM #10: | It was a terrible film. The plot was a thinly veiled replica of the first. All-Star Athlete Check Looney Tunes Check Mad Villain who hates the Looney Tunes Check (the amusement park owner in the first) Monsters with NBA powers stolen from players Check Person in the real world majorly freaking out they lost the super athlete Check (Wayne Knight in the first, the friend who went with them to the WB studios in the second) A basketball game where the evil team gets way ahead by halftime Check A scene that gives everyone the courage to overcome said Monsters in the second half Check A famous actor showing up at the basketball game Check (Bill Murray and Michael B Jordan) It was the exact same movie, just with worse acting. I mean, I love Don Cheadle, but he was BAD in this movie. He is a much better actor, just a terrible script. The whole thing about Lebron's kid creating that video game was so cringe too. Like...Jesus. But I can forgive all that crap, even all the WB "worlds" being thrown in during the recruitment part, and the blatant Matrix references since Matrix 4 is coming soon. The absolute WORST part of this movie, imo, was the "WB characters" at the final basketball game cheering/jeering/etc the entire time. It was so obvious they just cosplay'd a bunch of randos in some of the WORST cosplay I have ever seen and then just told them to cheer or jeer for like 30 min straight and they recorded it. It was so painfully obvious nobody in the crowd knew wtf was going on in the basketball game. I give the movie a 2/10. The 2 points are just because of the Looney Tunes themselves (mainly Bugs) bashing Lebron's career the whole time, and the characters in Metropolis were based off the Superman TAS art design. Also its hilarious that the MVP of the game was basically ... Copied to Clipboard! |
