I mean you could make the same argument for gambling, my former stepdad has probably blown $10's of thousands on gambling over the past 50ish years. He bet's in extremely small amounts and makes enough money to make it not a huge issue, but he bets often.

It has never impacted him financially in the grand scheme though, sure that money could have been used for something better but he always had more than enough money for things that mattered.

So like anything it becomes a problem when the person is sacrificing major things that he needs for it or forgoing responsibilities like paying for his young son on needed expenses or borrowing/stealing money just to give it to gacha games.
