(I swear I wrote that line earlier without knowing this) Claire then, actually does offer to come with us, which is...! On one hand, fuck yeah, that's my girl, let's go. On the other hand, such an important figure surely has better things to do than to walk around with us right now. Though I suppose Valimar is kind of their ace in the hole right now, and Rean is the only one who can pilot it, so perhaps her sticking around to guard him might actually be pretty important. I'm willing to let this one slide. Especially because the sheer fanservice of getting to use her outweighs my better judgement.

After the cutscene ends and I get control, she's not actually on my team yet, despite a popup saying that Rean and Claire can now use overlimit. Bummer, but I assume she will be here soon. Walking around the base, Falcom randomly decided that this was a place that Munk would be. I'm not sure how to feel about that. He is very upset that Abend Time was cancelled after the war...oh, my sweet summer child. The voice actress they got to play her did have a very alluring voice, I have to admit. I wonder how she sounded in Japanese? Also, Monica is here (the chick that Laura was trying to teach how to swim), but she was so forgettable that I had to feel the need to explain who she even was, so who cares. Nothing much else of note here, so I go to advance the plot and Claire walks out, in some casual clothing. Unlike Mzero I dig this look, though I'll take an alt of the dress she was wearing at the bar in CS1 if possible. Fie then says the best line in this game so far, "I feel like I'm surrounded by horny teenagers all of the sudden." Love it.

Machias seems to recognize where we are, and Rean goes on to reference "the end of their trip" that I have to assume 95% of players know nothing about. Thanks for explaining that earlier, whoever that was. It was fun to read. They go and visit Rean's dad for a bit to give him their best wishes, and that ends the day.

Next time in Cold Steel 2, bonding events! I can't wait.
