We could survive without jokes about certain controversial subjects, but I'd be scared as hell if people started advocated such jokes be banned. Disapprove of the person Karl was defending, disapprove of Karl, those are fine. But "I gotta end this person's career and they are a racist forever" because they have a perspective different than yours. That's not ok.
