I wonder what went into deciding that they needed/wanted all those names and what went into getting them. Feels like they must be expecting it to make a bazillion dollars if they bothered to go that hard on the cast. I also think that while it doesn't necessarily mean that it will be a soulless piece of crap it also bothers me when animation projects don't get real voice actors. Screen actors are sometimes good voice actors but they're usually not as good as actual VAs.

Celebrity voice actors are just a part of the formula for a lot of studios, and they probably felt the brand was big enough that they could commit to a lot of them.

Chris Pratt also starred in the very succesful LEGO movie, which may have also factored in.

I have no idea whether or not he's a racist, but apparently there are recordings of him using racial slurs so it's a distinct possibility.
