i remember when this small indie had a few hundred and was collaborating with members of PLIVyou around the point shortly after debut where they were playing stuff like the beta of risk of rain 2 a lot
i really don't like how much she basically sold out since. giving up on her design and model she made herself (it was good tbh, she's a very good artist!), extremely aggressively marketing her content towards reddit and similar audiences more than any other vtuber i can even think of... and well, i'm still bitter about how the redesign even happened
(it was because she was jealous of her friend (also one of my favourite vtubers to watch, albeit one who was secretly very shy and nervous, notable for spending her first 6 months doing nothing but streams she'd delete straight after, and never collaborating with anyone besides hiyo) having a model like that. her friend who was only finally getting used to regular streaming to a cult audience of about 20 people, half that of hiyo. because she was jealous of that person, she insisted on getting their artist to redesign her model to be more or less exactly the same as them. normally it would've been a great opportunity to have them form a 2-person group officially and collaborate a lot more often, except the opposite happened and all that was really achieved was hiyo utilising the model with these short videos with excessive youtube advertising attached to bait enough international viewers to reach this point, and maybe 10% of them ended up flooding her friend's chat for a pretty long time, which was honestly neither enough to be worth it and too much for them to be comfortable with it, not understanding any english or spanish...)
