The Sorc is quite a situational class due to immunes. Each element has areas and bosses that it's particularly suited to (e.g. Mephi and The Ancient Tunnels for Cold Sorcs). They're not so good at progressing through the whole game (minus just Teleporting through). Hybrids can do it, but sacrifice a lot of power and killing speed compared to builds like the Hammerdin. A good merc can also help.

The one type of Sorc that can easily handle anything is a well geared Light Sorc with an Infinity merc (but that'll be expensive, especially at this point). Infinity removes a good chunk of Light Immunes, but less for Fire and even fewer for Cold.
