They literally went. "Oh wait yeah us too, we're also wrapping up a decade long story arc! No, TWO decade long arc! Yeah that was clearly planned!" It's one thing to be an imbecile. It's another to treat your audience like imbeciles. They are just incapable admitting they fucked it up.
