#86:

I have like ten projects going on at once, this being one of them. I only have a little time to play tonight. Trying to balance all these projects as best I can... while getting them all done. A big one was organizing stuff on my computer, so I wanted to tidy that up some before playing because a BSOD would have been very, very bad. Very, VERY bad. Now? One would set me back five minutes. Phew!

Suspect #1 rebukes Velvet, only for Eleanor to step in and start surveying her about the Abbey. The people here aren't happy. The Abbey is 100% doing something to protect them from having malevolence overtake them, but they're not telling the people the truth. They just seem to love the ruins more than the people, so I don't blame her for being angry. (GO ELEANOR btw)

Suspect #2 also hates the Abbey. Medissa lost her daughter to the daemonblight - the Abbey murdered her, just like then-Henchwoman Eleanor would have before, and screamed "DAEMONS HAVE FEELINGS TOO!" and barricaded herself in the sanctuary... they broke in and were going to execute her, but a praetor said she was too "receptive" for them to do that. Plus, being alive when her daughter isn't is a very cruel punishment itself. The Abbey sucks and only cares about order and treating the sheeple as the sheep they are.

Sidequest person isn't sure what causes daemonblight and thinks it's contagious. This was never clear for me until Eizen opened up. The Abbey says they're working on a cure, but that's impossible... unless we kill Artorius, probably.

Suspect #3 says that the Faldies Ruins were used to extract ore from the mountain, and are now the Abbey's replacement for Titania prison. Seems like Medissa is locked up there, being forced into labor.

Suspect #4 says that Medissa's daughter didn't want her mother remarrying... and then, straight out of an "Am I the Asshole?" post, the guy reported her to the Abbey. Medissa responded by murdering him. Don't blame her. He's the asshole. Suspect #4 is one too, because the daughter should've willingly killed herself for having been turned into a daemon. Like WHAT? YTA, dude.

Velvet believes that Medissa is the therion and that's why the Abbey spared her, making it look like she was devout as cover. I get a skit about Laphicet being cold, believing that being brainwashed by Villain Teresa dulled his senses... and Magilou forces Eleanor to coo like a dove to get some hand warmers. Not as glorious as Velvet's, but hey, still fun!

What's not fun is realizing that all the enemies around here are the same weaksauce I fought at the start of the game. HOWEVER, I'm me, and I realize immediately how that's actually really useful as I spend a good chunk of time traveling back and forth between Hellawes and Beardsley, beating them up on Simple difficulty (which makes zero difference in any department here) and buying any weapons that don't have skills so I can stock up on Odorless Fluid without overleveling. I somehow manage to get like eight this way before calling it a night. I use five of these for Eizen's Iron Fist, because it's such a weak weapon that I didn't previously have access to so it's best to strengthen it for when we get to the ruins.

I will resume doing some of that tomorrow until I have what I think is enough. This is most certainly a workable solution and since there's that Teletubby in Beardsley with a game, I hope it'll still be there later (but still fear it won't, and that little guy will be the last one left, so might as well use this while I can). And before you ask, yes I have multiple titles equipped to boost drop rates.
