Donnie Darko is great, but also just has a lot of personal impact on me specifically, largely because it was the first movie I think that really got me into movies. Like of course I enjoyed movies before that, but that was the first time I think I really realized what film as a medium could be overall. It's just got it all; a killer soundtrack, aesthetic style, memorable lines (both comedic and dramatic), great performances, and that weird mix and drab realism and dark scifi that I love

In fact all my top 5 are largely there and unlikely to ever move because of the personal impact they had on me
