I don't really see any difference between him and the Snow White dwarves except that the SW dwarves are more comic. Personally I would start the movie with a short disclaimer stating that the "dwarves" are a mythical race that appear regularly in classic fantasy and should not be associated with real-life little people the same way that giants in fantasy aren't associated with real-life people who have gigantism.
