We run into the village and Niko and Rokurou are arguing. Niko asks Velvet to talk sense into him but she explains she's a terrible person, and it was all for herself, not for Laphi, and when she says "Get out of the way!" everyone suddenly becomes daemons. I thought this was a dream? Magilou clarifies that it was an illusion based on Velvet's dreams and Eizen calls that a nasty little arte. Velvet saw through it by herself and yet... she was still brutal. To her best friend. And let's be honest: If I was in this situation, I don't know what I'd do. I'd probably be the guy who'd want to take happiness, to live in ignorance of the truth so I wouldn't lose the one thing I had.

"Wowie zowie cool beans" xD - Magilou keeps it up! Was going to end there, but this is just too good to pass up. I head to the cape. No scene: Immediate engagement with the therion. Velvet identifies it mid-fight as Niko's dogs fused together. It's an easy fight (as is the Code Red right after, at least until its final prayer attack). And afterward, Velvet says that they can tear her apart after it's all over for killing Niko... but I don't get it. Velvet should be their FRIEND like she was Niko's! And Artorius is more culpable in all of their misery. They're all just tools to him. At any rate, the book dissipated and isn't back at the ranch, so it was just part of the trap. Velvet reminisces about knitting and Laphi's maps and we're on our way. Well... turns out the asshole Melchior went to retrieve the book and... apparently he turned Aifread into a malak with dark artes or something? We'll know everything before long, but... I wanna know now. I also wanna know why 1) the book was actually still there and 2) why Phi didn't take it with him. It doesn't matter, because the book Laphi had hand-copied at the start of the game was the Book of Innominat. And I'd forgotten that because somehow I'm at 95 hours played because 1) typing notes, 2) weapon management, and 3) overdoing everything like I tend to.

Eizen accuses Eleanor of leaking our plans to the Abbey, but Velvet dismisses it because it's clear that the Abbey knows we're rounding up therions, but they don't know WHERE. If they did, they'd have attacked Titania, but since they don't, they're laying traps for us with each one. Phi defends her, saying she hasn't been unsupervised, and Rokurou says the guilt of treachery would fill her with malevolence. Magilou... well, she'd be a terrible spy, but she still goes on about mind control artes, like Melchior was using on Aifread.

Taliesin is... more morbid. The cats are gone due to daemonblight, which is sad, and makes this place a lot less lively. This Katz Invitation is to... what now? And there's also one major thing that Aball was written off by daemonblight three years ago. It's a very different subject to broach. The guy I'd liked from before isn't so likable now - he's a lot more self-important, so that sucks. Niko's fiance is still suicidal even after three years, so that sucks even more. We also learn that the fog was part of the illusion, as was the way Taliesin's people thought. Just how ridiculously OP is this guy, and how are we gonna kill him?

The Magilou/Eleanor comedy skit is... okay, and again devolves into arguing, because... it's Magilou. It's also not all that funny. Best part is the irony that Magilou ad-libs a lot but hates it when her partner does and it makes her look bad.

At any rate, I stop there for the night. I played more than enough and got a lot to digest! Definitely giving me food for thought here. But really... I'd honestly want to live in that dream. I want my life to feel like one, and I won't be satisfied with anything less.
