Bo normally meant that. But thats because people used to only consider those as the two main genders. With more gender identities, bi could be different now. Think about it from the prefix of the words.
Hetero means the other, where homo is the same. And bi mean two, but I guess the word doesnt need to follow that to a tee That said, it also depends on who you ask. The definitions may vary, but they are normally similar. So, while pan is people regardless of gender, most say bi is either two genders, or two or more genders
