Lived half my life with my grandparents then mother and grandparents and brother. Father was out of picture early, abusive. Had a variety of pets! Dogs, cats, a goat, hamster, turtle, chickens (though those were for eggs) tadpoles from 4th grade classroom. Worked as a Lab Technician in a concrete plant testing rocks and sand for 10 years! Not my passion but my Grandad got me the job. He was HUGE in the concrete business. DFW Airport, oversaw bits, Fort Worth Convention Center Water Garden, even places like New Orleans and Panama!
