Lila's Sky Ark (Switch)

Wow, the reviews were savage to this game and it absolutely did not deserve it.

So this is basically a 2D Zelda-like, but instead of getting a sword, you can only fight by throwing pots and other objects. To make this system actually function, you can stow these objects in your inventory and pull them out as needed; you also get a number of non-weapon upgrades. While it starts out finicky, I came to really appreciate the extra layer of difficulty and strategy it added to the game's combat.

The humor was kind of a miss for me (it's the typical surreal, referential humor that's been trendy since Undertale, if not since Earthbound) and the story is questionable, but overall I thought the game was pretty compelling. Definitely something I'd recommend to fans of the genre.
