Sure there was. There were quite a few rounds when she was saved early on and Mars was among the last saved. Just because it hasn't happened lately doesn't mean there was no chance if it happening at all.
And for the record, I didn't save Venus because she's almost my least favorite of the Original Scouts (second only to Jupiter). If I could have my way Mercury would take Venus' spot.
Mars hasn't been in danger since at least the increase to five saves. On top of that, I (sadly) think that most people share your sentiment and don't care for Venus. I knew you weren't going to save her, but for kenrmcha to save Rydia so that Mars would be the last scout was unnecessary.
