Universities are fundamentally not vocational or trade schools. For most of the history of the University in the west, they had nothing to do with employment. They allowed people to become citizens, clerics, claim inheritance from their estate, or hold offices--but even then the universities were not solely a means to that end.

It is only recently that the Universities have started helping with employment. It is good that they do, and as people said earlier they have entire departments to aid career advancement. That said, it isn't a universities job to get you a career.

Likewise, if you are a hiring manager/employer....do you really want to hire an applicant that feels entitled to a position just because they went to college? It is a bad attitude to have in the first place.
