Most of the main page ones are hot garbage, but there's plenty of smaller subreddits that have fantastic communities. If you just stick to those and avoid everything else, Reddit's probably one of the best social media sites that currently exist. Kind of like GameFAQs in that respect. Even when this site was at its best, there were still boards I'd avoid like the plague. Same with 4chan - you can say what you like about /b/ or /pol/ (and you wouldn't necessarily be wrong), but back in the day at least (I haven't been there for a while) boards like /co/ and /tg/ were actually pretty chill, friendly, and interesting. You could have a great experience there no matter how bad some parts of the site might have been. You can't really judge an entire site solely by the worst boards on it. There's always the chance of finding pearls even in an ocean of shit. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ... Copied to Clipboard! |
