I don't know how democrats are winning statewide seats in Alaska, but I'm not going to complain! IIRC that special election was only a few months ago, but yeah. As for "why" I think there's a good case that the GOP infighting between Palin and Begich cost them the seat (and it only got worse after the special election) but Peltola is also simply just a good Dem candidate for Alaska - even got Murkowski's endorsement (who also won in her ranked choice runoff against a more extreme Republican) --- May you find your book in this place.
