Show: The Owl House
Original airdate: August 8, 2020

"Well then, if that's settled, may I have this dance?"

The Owl House is definitely one of my favorite shows to come out in quite a while, and a major part of that is due to the relationship between Luz Noceda and Amity Blight, also known as Lumity. While episodes before Enchanting Grom Fright hinted at the fact that they might be something more than friends, it was this episode, particularly the moment where it's revealed that Amity intended to ask Luz to Grom, that confirmed that the two indeed would be a couple, or at the very least, that Amity had a crush on Luz. Of course, the episode itself was quite good even without taking Lumity into account, as we got to see Luz and Amity's insecurities, in particular Luz's fear of having to leave the Boiling Isles, and Amity's fear of rejection by the one person she truly trusted at this point. There was also some spectacular imagery, including Luz and Amity's dance under the moonlight and the battle against the Grom monster, with the lovely finish of the sprouting tree at the conclusion of the dance itself. It was Enchanting Grom Fright when The Owl House truly let us all know that it was going to be a special show, and took its first true bold step into one of the most important relationships in animated television history.
