Show: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Original airdate: July 16, 2008

"My first girlfriend turned into the moon."
"That's rough, buddy."

The Boiling Rock proved to be a pivotal point in Avatar: The Last Airbender, an epic two-part adventure starring Sokka and Zuko that would ultimately lead into the final stretch of episodes, but I admit that my affection for this particular episode stems from one thing mainly: it's the episode that finally resolved the mystery of just what happened to Suki after her capture late in season 2. Many fans speculated that Azula had killed her off, but ultimately, she ended up being taken to the Boiling Rock prison, along with Sokka's dad, and her reunion with Sokka (which culminated in a sweet kiss) was the perfect way to reintroduce Suki to the show and ultimately to enlist her into the Gaang. She then got to have one of the show's most badass moments, climbing the walls like Spider-Man and subduing the prison's warden in a manner of seconds... yeah, Suki was pretty cool. The episode also showed just how close Zuko was becoming with the Gaang, giving him and Sokka a chance to team up on an important mission, and their dynamic was quite engaging, with Zuko's seriousness and Sokka's sense of humor complimenting each other perfectly. Combined with an epic moment for Mai and Ty Lee, and this two parter was the complete package, one of my favorite Avatar episodes and the episode I'd been waiting to see for a very long time.
