I personally really don't care for 'completely open exploration where you can go anywhere' in Metroidvania's. Hollow Knight has better combat than the first Ori but not the second, Ori beats it there too. But in terms of story, graphics, music, platforming challenges, feel of movement, etc I'd pick both Ori games over Hollow Knight any day of the week.

Hollow Knight also gets much too hard in the end game to be fun and frankly is just frustrating imo

I still enjoyed it enough to finish it though.
