RySenkari 12/05/22 1:31:34 PM #50: | #69: The Future https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/9/2/2/AAAG8cAAD9J6.jpg Show: Steven Universe Future Original airdate: March 27, 2020 "Wherever you end up, we will visit you to talk, to listen, to be there, whenever you need us. We love you, Steven." For all its flaws, Steven Universe Future still managed to capture the charm and sweetness of the original series, and by the time the show was ready for its big finale, it was still so hard to say goodbye. Steven has conquered his final enemy: his own insecurities and fears, as his friends and loved ones all helped him overcome his internal turmoil in I Am My Monster, and after therapy, he's now ready to leave Beach City behind and see the world. This episode had so many treats for longtime fans, including a callback to the Cookie Cat rap from the very first episode, the long-awaited Connverse kiss, and finally, tearful and heartfelt goodbyes between Steven and his parents: his dad Greg, and of course, the three Crystal Gems who loved him and took care of him for so many years. It's just so sweet to see how much everyone loves each other, and that the Gems couldn't resist getting emotional as Steven left them behind. I was disappointed with Steven Universe Future, but even though the series left me with some bad feelings, I still loved the way it ended, with Steven finally able to be his own man and see the world, while still implying that he would spend time with his loved ones in the future. Capped off by a beautiful song as Steven says one last farewell to Beach City, and this finale left me misty-eyed, the end of a long and wonderful series, and a fitting goodbye to so many beloved characters. --- This signature won't change until Chrono Trigger gets a re-release on a modern Nintendo console. ...
