"Curse you, Perry the Plat Wait, is that Love Hndel?"

This was the episode that really got me into Phineas and Ferb, a show I'd sort of dismissed before as being stupid and formulaic, before Dude, We're Getting The Band Back Together! showed me how sweet that formula was. It's structured around Phineas and Ferb trying to reunite their parents' favorite 90s era band Love Handel, because their parents had exchanged their first kiss at one of their concerts. Even Candace, who's normally trying to bust Phineas and Ferb, is actually working with them to help this time around, actually trying to keep their mom from finding out. Meanwhile, Dr. Doofenshmirtz wants to set up a party for his daughter's 16th birthday, but his daughter isn't the sweet girly girl she used to be, and his efforts to throw her a party flop spectacularly. What I love about this episode is how it really plays to its characters' strengths and their relationships with one another, and it also helps that all the music (there were a lot more songs than usual) is quite catchy, among the show's best. Of course, it all comes together when the band eventually does reunite, throwing a huge concert to help Phineas, Ferb, and Candace's mom and dad celebrate their anniversary, and it's quite heartwarming to see their kiss set to a very heartwarming (but still somewhat funny) song called "You Snuck Your Way Right Into My Heart". The concert scene remains one of my lasting memories of the show, and helped to make me a huge Phineas and Ferb fan all the way through its run.
