Show: Gravity Falls
Original airdate: October 26 and November 23, 2015, and February 15, 2016

"This party never stops! Time is dead and meaning has no meaning! Existence is upside-down and I reign supreme! WELCOME, ONE AND ALL, TO WEIRDMAGEDDON!"

The epic three part conclusion to Gravity Falls played out over four months and had everything that made the show so great: horror, action, comedy, mysteries, and most of all, great character moments from heroes and villains alike. It raised the stakes to multiversal heights, with Bill Cipher taking over all of Gravity Falls after the events of the previous episode, transforming it into his own personal evil playground. Dipper and Mabel were separated from one another physically and emotionally after those same events, leaving Dipper to fend for himself and find whatever allies he could to save everyone from the evil triangle. Dipper teams up with Wendy (who has turned into a proper post-apocalyptic butt-kicking badass), clashes with Gideon (before offering him a chance for redemption), but eventually realizes that saving Mabel is the key to saving everyone, leading into part 2 and a journey into Mabel's mind. But even once Mabel is saved, it takes everyone's combined efforts to stop Bill, and I didn't know WHAT was going to happen, if someone (particularly Ford or Stan) was going to die, who was going to end up together SPOILERS: no one, leaving it up to the fanfic writers :p or even if Bill was going to be stopped (I mean, obviously yes, but I was still in doubt at certain points). Weirdmageddon was the perfect way to end Gravity Falls, and even though we did lose some character development episodes when Alex Hirsch refused to do a third season (which I assume Weirdmageddon still would've been at the end of), the finale wrapped up most of the loose ends, leaving just enough scraps for the fanfic writers to fight over, and leaving fans, myself included, with a warm and fuzzy feeling. I loved Gravity Falls, it wasn't quite one of my very favorite shows, but it was great just the same, earning Weirdmageddon a prominent place on my top 100 ranking.
