The episode that revealed the truth behind Rose Quartz's heritage and how Pink Diamond was "shattered", I had actually expected the revelation that Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond all along was coming ever since the events of Jungle Moon, but it was no less shocking to actually see it happen, and it was incredible to learn just what kind of person Rose Quartz truly is. This incredible episode, full of so many different layers of emotion and morality, was told in brilliant fashion, with Steven going into Pearl's gem to retrieve her phone, which ended up being the only way Pearl could reveal the truth to him because of the promise she made so long ago. The episode was beautiful, particularly the voice acting from Deedee Magno Hall and Susan Egan, the emotional turmoil both characters were going through and the reason why both characters did what they did, as well as showing Steven's reaction to the revelation... and the ending that revealed that even Garnet and Amethyst didn't know (which would have repercussions for later episodes, as so many of these revelations would). A Single Pale Rose reveals perhaps the biggest secret of the series in the best possible way, using beautiful art and acting to convey the episode's message and set up the events of the show's final arc.
