AT&Ts purchase of WarnerMedia was so leveraged that once Covid hit and movies stopped making money there was basically no way it was going to be able to continue the way it did. The sale to Discovery (saddling it with even more debt) has just expedited the inevitable. I think they have something like a 2-to-1 ratio of debt to assets?
