"I won."

I think we all knew that Walter White's climactic showdown with Gustavo Fring was going to make my list at some point, and it ends up here at #31. It could've ended up higher, but this was actually the last episode of the show I watched knowing what was going to happen, so the effect of Gus emerging from Hector's room and adjusting his tie was somewhat lost on me... but it's truly a clever moment on the part of the show's writers to give viewers that last "holy shit no way he lived" moment before revealing the truth in gruesome fashion (which gave the episode its title, how clever!). So yeah.. this is absolutely one of the best Breaking Bad episodes, and I'm sure there's some viewers who think it certainly is the best! While it's remembered for Gus' last scene, this was a damn good episode all around, with so much intensity and drama at pretty much every turn, from Jesse being abducted by Gus' goons, to Walter's last conversation with Hector (I can only imagine how that must've went), to, of course, the huge reveal at the very end that shows just how low Walt will stoop to get ahead. This absolutely could've been the series finale, and it would've been satisfying enough, but of course, there would be 16 more excellent episodes to go (some of which may just make my top 30, stay tuned!)
