Used to know a guy who liked to catch bees and pull off their wings. Didn't make me sad but it was very concerning. Why would you do this? I don't think he finished them off either so the bees would probably live a bit longer, helpless and flightless on the ground.

i killed bugs as a young kid (like 8 years or younger). I remember pulling the head off grasshoppers and taping them or gluing them (w/ elmer's glue) back onto the body. I noticed that they'd hop around a little bit headless and thought that they could probably survive my procedure. of course, they'd eventually stop hopping. probably went through a dozen of them till i decided to stop because it wasn't working.

also i vaguely remember trying to drown these big leaf-cutter ants till their movement was impeded (either stopped moving or moved slower i cant remember). I'd then performed "cpr" on them by lightly squishing them and blowing on their faces. at the time I didn't realize ants could survive in water for like 24+ hours so I thought I was really "saving" them when they'd start walking around again after my light squishing.

ofc i also burned ants with a magnifying glass.

also used to cut off the orange part of a cap gun and shot banana spiders with the sparks (they didnt die from that i think but it'd poke holes through their webs so they'd fall to the ground).

used to put the air duster upside down to freeze spiders as well.

anyways it gave me an adrenaline rush at the time. the main reason why I killed bugs as a kid.
