It's possible to dodge without bombing or getting hit (and there's an achievement for it. plus you have to on hard mode and you don't start out with bombs). since the attack's aimed at you, you just need to make sure the first shot is aimed at a corner, then move far enough away from the first shot so the follow up shots are aimed towards the other side of the screen so you have the space to dodge them. this is on hard mode but to give you a general idea: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIEy4CwfGJw --- The only certain death in the universe is Mother Hitton's Littul Kittons.
