Then we will get into this whole debate of 'what is hard work'. The type of argument that people will use to argue cashiers vs. CEOs.

I have worked for/with a professional sports team. They put in work, absolutely. But also practice 2-4 hours, 3,4 days a week in-season. Have an obscene amount of resources at their disposal to make keeping them at their top performance that the average Joe could ever dream of. When they leave the training grounds, they generally aren't going home to hit the weights though and put in more work. They are living their lives. Some gym bros never leave the gym.

But also, I'm not arguing against high salaries. I think the whole sports industry itself is fucked. From owners raking in money, TV deals, player salaries, etc. For the players, get what you can.

cashiers and ceos all work hard within the circumstances they are handed, neither works harder than the other if you were to extrapolate whats expected from them/their position

yea, they practice 2-4 hours a day and are always on the road when not at home, a lot of them also have side businesses and brands that theyre heavily involved in that can eat away at the time they spend with their families, if they have one

when they go home some of them do continue to grind though, most, if not all professional athletes continue their training regimens throughout the off season because if they stop they feel theyll be surpassed by their peers by the time the following season starts up
