It's an FPS sort-of-metroidvania from the era before Metroid Prime. I guess this new version sort of combines the existing PS1 and Saturn versions. It's a decent shooter. There's not a whole lot of Metroidvania-ness to it but I definitely see the comparisons, and the movement abilities are very fun. Moving around in this game just feels good. The shooting, a little less so but it's fine. The less said about the game's story/aesthetic the better.
