Disgaea has some advantages that Fire Emblem doesn't have, such as it makes grinding a lot more fun + has the whole "big numbers are goofy" thing, but as a game beyond that Fire Emblem is mostly just better than Disgaea. The timing system Disgaea uses leads to the game kind of stagnating pretty hard in terms of variety and the stages as a whole are really bad compared to basically any other tactical game. Both have a similar level of "you can get overpowered as balls because the system isn't actually balanced to people that care" but Fire Emblem definitely leans harder on you actually using the systems to become overpowered while Disgaea just has it be a grinding thing (which, as mentioned, is fun due to the systems at play, but it means that it is incredibly simplistic by comparison). --- "A shouted order to do something of dubious morality with an unpredictable outcome?
