I really enjoyed the original, albeit mostly for the music and storyline.

Remake pleasantly surprised me by being quite faithful to detail in every non-whisper (or early Seph) scene for 80% of the game, combat was fun and well balanced, the music largely kept it's energy compared to the original, and the voices/graphics were of course amazing.

I was ready to call it a 90-95/100 based on that (only negatives being Whispers and Seph) but I found the ending to be so bad it was almost insulting. Let's forget the original storyline, replace it with a bad fanfic about Barrett getting held up and stabbed, then forget THAT entirely to break the fourth wall and kill the concept of a remake made alive in "fate". Add in a bunch of flashy Marvel mumbojumbo, imply there's an alternate dimension, and bring back everyone who ever died. Chef's kiss - we're so clever!!!

I really didn't like that (if you couldn't tell). 75/100. (Which is really sad given the start)
