It just doesn't make sense that if given an out she wouldn't be happy to go right back to that. She put her life on the line multiple times and it feels like the dragon arc was to get us to accept just how much it means everything to her. Then the next arc is about how you shouldn't hide your feelings from those you care about, and then the final arc is hiding your feelings and giving up on the one thing you cared about so much you'd throw your life away for it for extremely short sided and frankly stupid reasons. --- I'm ninja (you can't see me) ...
