Walking across the giant chains was pretty epic. I can't say it's not true the game is improving, although the fussy movement controls and way too many moves cycles between fun and frustrating. That blowtorch fire attack can be quite handy if you actually get enough time to use it, for example, but it's quite a complicated one to activate. One thing I find is so much of your powers being related to the hidden gems makes them basically essential to find, but the game really likes locking you into your progress in stages which makes searching for them difficult without a lot of replaying stages entirely.
